WILBUR D. MEYER
Wilbur Dean Meyer, the son of Elmer Sr. and Marie (Engelke) Meyer was born on August 7, 1945 in Anthon, Iowa. He was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Climbing Hill, Iowa on August 26, 1945 and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Anthon-Oto High School in 1964. Wilbur married Donnette Richter on October 5, 1974 at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown, Iowa. The couple moved to Paullina, Iowa where Wilbur worked for Farmers Co-Op Elevator for 29 years, retiring in 2007. Wilbur passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family, reaching the age of 70 years, 2 months and 25 days.
Wilbur was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and his beloved dog Fancy and going on family trips to a Minnesota Resort.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 41 years, Donnette Meyer of Paullina; children, Nicholas Meyer of Paullina, Nicole and her husband, Chad Florine of Marcus, Iowa and Natalie Meyer of Alta, Iowa; two grandchildren, Tayler and Lana Florine; a sister, Inez Freeman of Spencer, Iowa; brother and sister-in-law, David and Cindy Richter of Paullina; aunts, Helma Engelke and Fern Jaobsen of Mapleton, Iowa and aunt and uncle, Glen and Elaine Waggoner of Sutherland; also, nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Sr. and Marie; brother, Elmer Meyer Jr. and brother-in-law, Jack Freeman; father and mother-in-law, Donald and Darlene Richter.
