WANETA “NETZ” DOORENBOS
Waneta “Netz” Doorenbos, the daughter of Jake K. and Verna (Kruger) DeBerg, was born November 21, 1936 in Little Rock, Iowa. She attended schools in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1955. She moved to Sibley where she was employed at Priebe’s, she later worked at Campbell Soup in Worthington, MN, the George Egg Plant, Boyden Egg Plant, the Play Mor in Sibley and Pete’s Place in Ashton. On May 21, 1971, she was united in marriage to Donald Doorenbos in Boyden, Iowa. All of their married life was spent in Boyden. Netz later worked at DEMCO Manufacturing before her retirement.
She passed away at the Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Friday, December 31, 2010 reaching the age of 74 years, 1 month and 10 days.
She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Boyden where she was a member. She was also a member of the V.F. W. Auxiliary in Sibley.
Netz is survived by her husband, Donald of Boyden; one sister, Ruby (Mrs. Roger) Johannes of Ashton; a very special friend, Carolyn and Leon Korthals and their family of Boyden; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Grace Dreesen, Anna Braun, Catherine DeBerg, Helen Holtrop; one brother, Marty DeBerg; a niece, Rose Marie Dressen and a nephew, Jacob Vernon DeBerg.
