THEORA R. SAUNDERS
Theora Rose Saunders, the daughter of Fred and Clara (Henefield) Lestico was born April 19, 1920 in Worthington, Minnesota. She was baptized on May 23, 1920 and later confirmed on May 27, 1934 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Worthington, Minnesota. She re-affirmed her faith on June 13, 1999 and was baptized at the Paullina Lake with Pastor Rev. Coe officiating.
On March 23, 1939, she was united in marriage to Ira (Joe) Saunders. They lived in Okoboji from 1962 to 1982, where they ran an antique store and she worked at Clara Culture Closet until they moved to Paullina.
Theora enjoyed her card friends and her church, Oakdale Evangelical Free of Meriden.
Theora is survived by her son, Jerry Saunders and his wife, Dee of Paullina, Iowa; two grandchildren, Corey of New York City, New York and Tony and his wife, Mary of Blairville, Georgia; one great-grandson, Joseph from Georgia; one sister, Mildred; one brother, Albert; also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents, four sisters and six brothers.
