Services for Sharon S. Pepper, age 78, of Sioux City, Iowa formerly of Sheldon who passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City. Her service will be 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Rustin Avenue Community Church in Sioux City, with Pastor Jill Clem, officiating.

SHARON SUE PEPPER
Sharon was born July 12, 1945, in Albuquerque, NM, to Albert and Laura Mae (Stubblefield) Riggs. She grew up in Belen, NM, and graduated from Belen High School in 1963. After high school, she attended Eastern New Mexico University, and graduated with a degree in business education.
While in college, she met her future husband, Mike Pepper, who was stationed at the nearby Cannon Air Force Base. The two were married Sept. 9, 1967, in Belen.
They moved to Iowa after marriage and, in 1970, settled in Sheldon. Sharon had several jobs over the years, retiring from Van Wyk Inc. in 2016 as a receptionist/bookkeeper.
After retirement, she moved to Sioux City to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. Her free time was spent quilting, having lunch with friends, playing bingo and traveling.
Sharon is survived by her two daughters, Christine Pepper and her friend, Kennith Stoehr, of Sioux City, and Leah and Brad Sherman of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Brandon and Grace Ogle of Sioux City; two grand dogs, Sophia Sherman and Simon Pepper; two sisters-in-law, Diane Riggs and Kathy Pepper; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; her parents; and her siblings, Bill Riggs and Judy Beavers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Cure PSP at psp.org or the Riggs Family Scholarship, 13500 Springbok, Arcadia, OK 73007.
