On January 15, 1947, she was united in marriage to Peter A. Hibma at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in Rock Valley, Iowa, before moving to Boyden, where they farmed for 50 years. They continued to live on the farm until Peter fully retired in 2001. They then moved to Elk Horn, Nebraska to live with their daughter, Janell Kimble. In 2005, they moved into the Autumn Park Apartments in Sheldon and in January of 2006, they became residents of the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull, Iowa. Peter preceded her in death on November 18, 2006. Sadie remained at the care center; she passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital in Sioux Center, Iowa, reaching the age of 85 years, 6 months and 3 days.
She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull and a past member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Texas with her husband and most of all spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
