RUTH VOS
Ruth (Van Houte) Vos, the daughter of to Jacob and Jennie (Campaan) Van Houte, was born December 8, 1919 in Strasburg, North Dakota. She moved with her family to Platte, South Dakota at an early age. She later moved with the family to Boyden, Iowa and graduated from high school there. She was united in married Arthur Vos on June 29, 1940 in Rock Rapids, Iowa. They lived for a time in San Diego, California, then in Mora, Minnesota; Sheldon, Iowa; Sibley, and Rock Rapids, Iowa, returning to Sheldon, and remaining there for the last 28 years. Ruth passed away on June 18, 2006 at her home in Sheldon, reaching the age of 86 years, 6 months and 10 days.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Arthur Vos of Sheldon, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Sue and Wayne Kooiker of Orange City, Iowa; five grandchildren, Mary and John Tobin of Yorba Linda, California; Bruce and Linda Larsen of Cedar, Minnesota; Chris Larsen of Yorba Linda, California; Carol and Pip Fisher of Madrid, Iowa; and Will and Heather Kooiker of Colonial Heights, VA; four great-grandchildren, Kristen Tobin; Jeffrey Tobin; Aubrie Kooiker; and Lincoln Fisher; and one sister: Marie Deal of Onamia, Minnesota; and many nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Bonnie Larsen; and a brother, Ted Van Houte
