 Visitation will be held after 10 A.M. until service time on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

 Burial will be held at a later date at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.

 Roy Stephenson of Sheldon, Iowa passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Cobble Creek Assisted Living in Sheldon, Iowa.

 Roy was born July 2, 1962 in Webster City, Iowa. He and his brother were placed in many foster homes after their mother went to a nursing home. Then he and his brother went to Hope Haven.

 Roy worked at the Meat Locker, then the Crown Fork and the Fin N Feather in Sheldon for twenty years. After working at the Fin, he went to the Old Steaks & Chops, then to Godfathers in Sheldon until he couldn’t work anymore because of his health.

 Roy was a quiet person until someone said something not good about the Republicans. Then the true Roy came out. He was very knowledgeable about many wars. 

 Roy got his nickname from Jeff Kreykes at the Fin, because he abbreviated everything. He made sure Sandy Grave’s birds were always fed. His favorite saying was, “I’ll be there in a short-short.” 

 Left to cherish his memory is his brother and sister-in-law and many friends.
