ROSALIE E. M. OLDENKAMP
Rosalie Emily Margaret Oldenkamp, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Waege) Meyners, was born March 23, 1921 on a farm near Boyden, Iowa; she received her education in a country school near Boyden. Rosalie was united in marriage to John H. Oldenkamp on September 10, 1941 in Hubbard, Nebraska. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Boyden and Maurice, Iowa; Lyle, Minnesota and the Matlock, Iowa areas, where Rosalie helped her husband with the farm work. John preceded her in death on March 27, 1984. After John’s death Rosalie moved into Sheldon and in January of 2010 she became a resident of the Sanford Sheldon Senior Care in Sheldon. Rosalie passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the Senior Care, reaching the age of 89 years and 15 days.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. She enjoyed watching T.V., flowers and spending time with her family and friends.
Rosalie is survived by her four children, Lavonne and her husband, Frank Hammond of Matlock, Iowa; Marolyn Van Middendorp of Sheldon, Iowa; Ronald and his wife, Lona Oldenkamp of Lincoln, Nebraska; Larry and his wife, Amy Oldenkamp of San Jose, California; five grandchildren, Tammy Comstock, Joey Griffith, Sally Van Middendorp, Mindy Van Middendorp, Kyle Oldenkamp; five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and a sister, Frieda Meyners of Sheldon, Iowa; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and a sister.
