RONALD NIEBUHR
Ronald Niebuhr, the son of Erwin and Clara (Fegebank) Niebuhr was born on December 26, 1942 in Primghar, Iowa. He was baptized on February 7, 1943 and later confirmed on April 15, 1957 all at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. He graduated from Paullina High School in 1961. In November of 1962, he had an accident that left him paralyzed. After six months, he was transferred to a rehabilitation center in Des Moines, Iowa. He then went to New York City to attend Balowa Watch School, graduating in 1967. Returning home he worked for Walter Hotorp in LeMars, Iowa as an apprentice. Ron received his license on October 29, 1968 and started his own business in downtown Paullina later moving his business to his home. Ron passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Primghar Care Center, reaching the age of 72 years, 1 month and 9 days.
Ron was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. He played football all four years of high school. His senior year, he had the honor of being co-captain and also was 1st team all-conference. He followed the football and basketball teams from Paullina all the time. He was a 4-H and FFA member also. He could talk to anyone.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Clara Niebuhr of Paullina; a sister, Janet and her husband, Tom Lange of Paullina; nephews and their spouses, Mike and Michelle Lange and Mark and Kari Lange all of Paullina; six great nephews and nieces, one great niece and great nephews, three aunts and many friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his father.
