 Services for Roger L. Smith, age 85, of Primghar, who passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at MercyOne in Sioux City. His celebration of life visitation with family present will be from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Primghar.

 Burial will be at a later date at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Primghar.

ROGER L. “BUCK” SMITH

  Roger Lawrence Smith, also known as “Buck” was born on March 4, 1939, in Primghar, Iowa to Roy and Fern (Tastove) Smith. He received his education from Primghar School. He married Mary Lee Willemstein and to this union three children were born, Kevin, Jaci, and Steven. Later Buck married Marcia Thomas. He was known as a horse trader as for the majority of his life is what he enjoyed doing. Buck passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at MercyOne of Sioux City reaching the age of 85 years, 4 months and 7 days.

 Left to cherish his memory are his three children and their spouses, Kevin and Susan Smith of Primghar, Jaci and Greg Eden of Wesley, Iowa, and Steven (Lori) Smith of Spencer; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; also, other relatives and friends.

 Buck was preceded by his parents, wives, Mary Lee and Marcia; son, Casey Jay born on July 11, 1985, and passed away on September 12, 1985, and his siblings.
