He grew up on a farm near Boyden, Iowa where he attended school in and graduated from the Boyden High School in 1935. He was united in marriage to Helen W. Lutjens on July 5, 1939; they made their home on a farm west of Boyden. After his parents passed away they moved to his folk’s home place in 1972. Robert was a mechanic, an electrician, a farmer and a jack-of-all-trades, he could do anything. He loved animals, helping his neighbors and he loved to visit. He was a good husband and father.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 69 years, Helen of Boyden; and two daughters and their husbands, Alice and Duane Stowe of Dakota City, Nebraska and Roberta and Robert Mulder of Boyden, Iowa; four grandsons, Duane James Stowe and his friend, Kenzie Lahmann and Robert Jay and his wife, Danielle Stowe; Michael Stowe and Charles Stowe; three great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Jesse and Tristen; and other relatives and friends.
