Robert “Bob” Edgar Wolf, the son of Edgar and Alma (Meyn) Wolf was born May 17, 1925 in Sheldon, Iowa. He received his education in Sheldon schools graduating from Sheldon High School in 1942 and went on to attend Sheldon Junior College for one year. During W.W. II he entered the Navy serving for two years. On July 23, 1944, he was united in marriage to Pearl Feldman at her parent’s family farm near Ashton, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in Sheldon for a short time until moving to the Wolf Family Farm northwest of Sheldon, where they lived and farmed for many years. Bob was also a postal employee at the Sheldon Post Office and for many years assisted at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon. The couple moved from the family farm home in 2000 and moved into Sheldon. Bob passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Sanford Sheldon Hospital, reaching the age of 83 years, 11 months and 27 days.
He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, where he was very active in the church, serving as a Sunday school superintendent for several years. Family was very important to Bob; he always enjoyed family gatherings and was known as the family genealogist.
Bob is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Pearl of Sheldon; two sons and their wives, Paul and Pat Wolf of Pella; Norman and Deb Wolf of Le Mars and one daughter and her husband, Joan and D.B. McCulloch of Spirit Lake, Iowa; also six grandsons, Jason and his wife, Sara Wolf; Nathan Wolf; Ryan and his wife, Tabby Wolf; Robert and his wife, Julie Wolf; Steven and his wife, Erin Wolf and Mark and his wife, Robyn McCulloch; eight great-grandchildren, Hunter; Holly; Olivia; Mitchel; Evan; Rachel; Ava and Alison; also other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wolf.
