RICHARD M. HUSS
Richard Marvin Huss, the son of Cecil and Eva (Seivert) Huss was born in Sibley, Iowa on March 1, 1949. He received his education and graduated in 1967 from St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Ashton. After graduation he worked at the Ashton Tile Plant and the Ritter Elevator. On July 6, 1970, he was united in marriage to Virginia Lampe at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton, Iowa. Richard farmed with his brother Randy for the past 29 years. He passed away on Monday, July 10, 2006, at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon, Iowa, reaching the age of 57 years, 4 months and 9 days.
He was member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ashton. He served on the Ritter Elevator Board and was president of the board. He enjoyed fireworks on the Fourth of July and decorating the farm for the Christmas Season. Richard was an avid collector of toy trucks. Richard also treasured the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Virginia of Ashton; two sons and their wives, Steven and Janine Huss of Spencer, Iowa; Troy and Becky Huss of Ashton, Iowa; a daughter, Jessica and her husband, Lance Breitkreutz of Beaver Crossing, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Megan, Derek and Autumn; his parents, Cecil and Eva Huss of Ashton, Iowa; four brothers, Bob and Cathy Huss of Columbus, Nebraska; Gary Huss of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; Tom and Cheryl Huss of Becker, Minnesota; Randy and Jan Huss of Ashton, Iowa; a sister, Dianne Phelps of Lakewood, Colorado; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Lampe of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Norbert Lampe.
