Services for Raymond J. Shea, age 74, of Primghar who passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at MercyOne Primghar Medical Center. His funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 22, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Primghar with Father Tim Hogan, officiating.
Private family burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Primghar.
Visitation with family present will be from 9 to 10:45 A.M. on Monday, July 22, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Primghar.
Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Primghar.

Raymond John Shea “Beaver” was born May 17, 1950, in Primghar, Iowa to Donald John and Anna Marie (Konz) Shea.
Raymond graduated from Primghar High School in 1968. He was united in marriage to Sharon C. Richter on February 2, 1980, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Milford, Iowa. They settled in Primghar, Iowa and had daughters, Shelly Kay and Sheila Rae.
Raymond was a lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Primghar where after his retirement was the janitor for many years. He worked for Wilson Foods in Cherokee which later became Tyson Foods for over forty years. He retired in 2012.
In his free time, Raymond loved fishing, hunting, bowling, tending to his garden, making beef jerky, watching westerns, listening to Johnny Cash and attending his grandchildren’s events.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Shelly Shea of Spirit Lake, Iowa; granddaughters, Shayna and fiancé (Marcus Ingraham), Shaylee and Keeley all of Spirit Lake; his mother, Ann Shea of Primghar; siblings, Ron (Donna) Shea of Primghar, Rose (Bill) Campbell of Council Bluffs, Sheryl Boates of Alabama, Gary (Janet) Shea, Susie (Eugene) Schiefen both of Primghar, Patricia Shea of Dunlap, Iowa, John (Tricia) Shea of Lake Park, Iowa, Joe Shea of Florida, Bill Shea of Minneapolis, Gina (Dan) DeJong of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Tami (Dave) Gibson of Cayman Islands; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Rae Shea, wife, Sharon Shea, father, Donald Shea, mother and father-in-law, Dorothy and Donald Richter, brother-in-law, Dwight Boates, and niece, Jill Jones.
