PETER D. ZMUDKA
Peter Daniel Zmudka, the son of John Benjamin and Joan Elaine (May) Zmudka was born June 21, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois. He spent his early years in Phoenix, Arizona where he received his education and graduated from high school. He entered the Army in September of 1987 and served until being discharged in September of 1994. He later moved to Pocahontas, Iowa where he was employed as a welder. In 2005, he was united in marriage to Melissa Hastings in Spencer, Iowa. The couple moved to Primghar in 2006. Peter passed away very suddenly on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Baum-Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar reaching the age of 41 years, 4 months and 14 days.
Peter was known as a very good artist in his drawings. He also enjoyed fishing, music and spending time with his family always making them laugh.
Peter is survived by his wife, Melissa Zmudka of Primghar; two sons, Gerritt Latimer of Pocahontas, Iowa and Peter Zmudka Jr. of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a daughter, Sierra Zmudka of Primghar; children, Dalton Roberts of Spencer and Desirae Beaubien of Primghar; a sister, Katrina Fintch in Connecticut; his mother-in-law, Brenda Hastings; special friends, Harold and Bridget Schneidmiller and their family; Tyler, Jeremy and Zack; also other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
