PEARLE M. KOEPP
Pearle (Katherine) Mae Koepp, the daughter of John Ray and Tena (Martens) Smith was born July 21, 1917 on the family farm home near Turtle River, Minnesota. She received her education in Tenstrike and later in Bemidji High School. On December 1, 1936, she was united in marriage to Allen Koepp in Bemidji, Minnesota. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Janice and Judy and the couple was able to celebrate 60 years of marriage. In 1945, they moved to Sheldon and purchased Koepps’s Kabin Kamp on Highway 18 in Sheldon, which was a grocery store, Standard Oil Station and rental cabins. The couple operated it from 1947 until 1961, when they moved to Sanborn, Iowa. While in Sanborn they operated the Pike Supper Club for 8 years. Her husband preceded her in death in December of 1996. Pearle remained in Sanborn until moving back to Sheldon 3 and half years ago. She had been a resident of the Sanford Health Center Senior Care since February 2006. She passed away at Senior Care on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 reaching the age of 90 years, 7 months and 14 days.
She had been an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Sanborn, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Sanborn Country Club. She enjoyed homemaking, gardening, cooking and canning, golf and trips to the casino.
Pearle is survived by a daughter, Janice and her husband, Dennis Warm of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a son-in-law, Joe Sweeney of Sutherland, Iowa; six grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Nancy Jean Warm; of Phoenix, AZ; Marcie and her husband, Regan Nuzum of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Dan and his wife, Karen Sweeney of Hartley, Iowa; Doug and his wife, Char Sweeney of Sutherland, Iowa; Steve and his wife, Mona Sweeney of Arnolds Park, Iowa and Chris and his wife, Melissa Sweeney of Colorado Springs, CO; also fifteen great-grandchildren, Quinlan and Nathan Warm, Tyler and Nicholas Henderson, and Taylor, Brenna, Austin, Emma, Ally, Connery, Seattle, Coral, TaraLynn, Brea and Abby Sweeney; also other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Judy Sweeney in July of 2003; a grandson, David Sweeney in 1966 and her parents.
Pearle was all about love for her husband, her daughters and their families, a host of other relatives, and her many, many friends. She was loved by all in return.
