OLIVE L. KOLP

Olive Loretta Kolp, the daughter of Frank W. and Eva M. (Jessup) Geringer was born February 29, 1924 at Marcus, Iowa. She attended country school in Marcus Township near Marcus, Iowa. On March 8, 1945, she was united in marriage to Carl S. Kolp at the Church of Christ in Cherokee, Iowa. After their marriage the couple settled in Paullina, Iowa where Olive was a homemaker and raised the couples children. Her husband preceded her in death on July 25, 1969. Olive remained in Paullina and moved to Marcus for several years before returning to Paullina. She remained at the family home until entering the Sutherland Care Center in January of 2013. She passed away at the Sutherland Care Center on Thursday, October 30, 2014 reaching the age of 90 years, 8 months and 1 day.
She is remembered by her son, Earl Kolp of Paullina, Iowa; a daughter, Janis Faye Johnson of Yankton South Dakota; grandchildren, Carl and Samuel Johnson; also great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Olive was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Ruth; her parents, grandchildren and three brothers and four sisters.
