NANCY E. TRAVER
Nancy Elizabeth Traver, the daughter of Oliver and Amy (Calhoon) Gernhart was born March 25, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa. She moved to Paullina with her family and received her education in Paullina schools. On October 1, 1955, she was united in marriage to Gordon Traver. After their marriage the couple made their home in Paullina where Nancy worked in Pauling’s Grocery Store and later working in United Foods before her retirement. She passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Orange City Area Health System reaching the age of 69 years, 1 month and 12 days.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Gordon of Paullina; three sons and their wives, Jay and Mary Traver of Warrensburg, Missouri; Guy and LaDona Traver of Paullina and Gene and Kim Traver of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren, Collan, Joel, Dustan, Dallas, Dylan and Taryn; one great-grandchild, Ayla; a brother, George Gernhart of Kalamazoo, Michigan; two sisters, Shirley Lawson of Sparks, Nevada and Vivian Brennan of Mason City, Iowa; also other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Terri Lynn; her parents, four brothers, Jack, Bill, Jim and Fred; and one sister, Nettie Chalstrom.
