 Funeral services for Michael C. Kruse, age 52, of Matlock, who passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Boyden with Pastor Jeremy Winter, officiating.

 Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in rural Boyden.

 Visitation will be after 3 P.M. with family present from 5 to 7 P.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Boyden.

 Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

MICHAEL C. KRUSE

 Michael Chad Kruse, the son of Roger and LaDonna (Kruse) Kruse, was born on April 5, 1972, at the Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He was baptized on May 7, 1972 and later confirmed on May 4, 1986 at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Boyden. He received his education from Sheldon Community Schools and graduated in 1990. After graduation he continued his education at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon receiving his degree in Electrical Instrumentation. Mike worked for his father at MRK Electric and after completing college began working for him full-time in 1992. He and his wife, Anne Phillips have been married since June of 2020, together they lived together on their acreage outside of Matlock. Mike passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 52 years, 7 months, and 12 days. 

 Mike was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in rural Boyden serving as a deacon. He was also a member and assistant chief for the Matlock Fire Department. He enjoyed golfing, farming, gardening, and working on race cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

 Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Anne; son, Chad Kruse; parents, Roger and LaDonna Kruse; stepchildren, Jonathan and Lauren Phillips, Quinn Savage and Alidea Boerhave; brother, Nathan Kruse; nieces and nephew, Alena Barnes-Kruse, Draven Kruse, and Ivy Kruse; also other relatives and friends.

 Mike was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Helen and Alfred Kruse and paternal grandparents, Henry A. and Elsie Kruse.
