MICHAEL ERIKSEN
Michael Eriksen, the son of Agdrup and Francis (Steiner) Eriksen was born on May 8, 1944 in Spencer, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Atkinson High School in Atkinson, Illinois. On October 11, 1965, he was united in marriage to Linda Lundberg in Orion, Illinois. After their marriage they lived throughout Iowa and Tennessee ending up in Gaza, Iowa, where he owned and operated Eriksen Construction. Mike retired in 2006 and in 2008 the couple moved to Paullina, Iowa. Mike passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at his residence in Paullina, reaching the age of 71 years, 6 months and 27 days.
Mike was a member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Primghar and was a 2nd Degree Knight with Knights of Columbus. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing cribbage. Mike also trained labs professionally for fourteen years.
Left to cherish Mikes memory is his wife, Linda of Paullina; four sons, John Eriksen of Gaza, Iowa; Joseph Eriksen of Des Moines, Iowa; Samuel Eriksen of Petersburg, Tennessee and Peter Eriksen of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings, Sally Broessel of Whitney, Texas; Mary (Richard) Talbot of Wapello, Iowa; Joseph W. (Bill) Eriksen of Des Moines, Iowa and Sue (Fred) Knorr of Round Rock, Texas; also other relatives and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by two children, Darrin Eriksen and Ginny Luna; his parents; brother, Stephen Eriksen and two sisters, Carol Saltz and Lori Eriksen.
