Maxine Elizabeth (Triplett) Cooper was born November 25, 1928 to Harold and Mildred (Barry) Triplett in Sutherland, Iowa. She spent her childhood growing up in the Sutherland area and later graduated from Sutherland High School in 1946. On March 19, 1947 she married James Cooper in Melvin, Iowa. To this union three children were born.
After their marriage the couple lived in Spencer until 1950 when they moved to Paullina. In 1955 the couple built a home in which they spent almost 50 years together. Her husband preceded her in death on July 18, 2004 in Spencer. Maxine remained in the family home and passed away at her home on Friday April 9, 2010 reaching the age of 81 years 4 months and 14 days.
Maxine enjoyed gardening and sewing and also making quilts for the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her newest passion was the nurturing of geraniums. At any given time over 50 plants were growing and blooming in her home. Maxine had a kind and caring nature that showed when her family was there enjoying a holiday.
She was a member of the Methodist Church in Paullina, and later a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina. She was involved with Presbyterian Women and sewing quilts for shut ins.
Maxine is survived by her children, Jeanie and her husband Bill Andrews of Melbourne, Iowa, Gary and his wife Sandy Cooper of Mankato, Minnesota and Linda and her husband Dale Opdahl of Paullina, 8 granddaughters, 16 great grandchildren, and one to be born in October, and also a Very Special Aunt, Mabel Byram of Spencer, Iowa and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband James, parents, brothers, Burdell and Merlyn Triplett, sister Evelyn Syndergaard, sister-in-law Colleen Banker, and special uncle Mac Byram.
