MARY LOU EWOLDT
Mary Lou Ewoldt was born October 28, 1927 on a farm near Archer, Iowa. She was the daughter of August and Mary (Lustfield) Hansen. She was baptized on November 27, 1927 by Rev. Hartmeister. She attended Zion Lutheran School in Paullina and was later confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church on May 24, 1942 in 1928 by Rev. Hartmeister and was a life-long member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. Mary Lou graduated from Paullina High School in May of 1946. On June 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Norman Ewoldt at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa by Rev. Martin Peters. After their marriage, the couple spent their entire married life in Paullina. Her husband preceded her in death on August 5, 1995 in Paullina. Mary Lou was employed at Skogmo’s Department Store, Ben Franklin Dime Store and Dee’s Dairy. She also sold Fuller Brush Products for 5 years. She and her husband were in the antique and coin business for over 35 years and had an antique and coin booth at the Clay County Fair for 30 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting and knitting.
Mary Lou leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Randy Reimer of Dalhart, Texas; Patricia and Kenneth Gettner of Hastings, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Lori Smith of Phoenix, Arizona; Bob Gettner of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Tracy Blauvelt of Hastings, Nebraska; five great-grandchildren, Justin and Heather Smith, Austin and Travis Gettner and Preston Blauvelt; two brothers, Donald Hansen and Dale Hansen both of Tucson, Arizona; also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a sister, Margaret Ann in infancy.
