MARY J. KRUSE
Mary Jane Uden the ninth child of eleven was born in Ocheyedan, Iowa on July 24, 1932, (it was her oldest brothers 15th birthday), to Ellsworth and Marie (Meyer) Uden. She was baptized on August 6, 1933 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan and later confirmed in St. Peter Lutheran Church on June 6, 1946. She lived in Ocheyedan and completed her high school education with the class of 1950.
On November 4, 1951, she and Leslie Kruse of rural Granville were married at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan. The couple made their home on the Kruse Family Farm all of their married life. She passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at the Orange City Hospital in Orange City, Iowa, reaching the age of 72 years, 8 months and 26 days.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown and volunteered with the church ladies with BINGO at the Paullina Care Center and quilting and working with Braille. She enjoyed farm life, sewing, yard work, gardening, shopping, playing cards, baking, the couples yearly fishing trip and babysitting her great-grandson.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Leslie of rural Granville, Iowa; three children, Peggy and her husband, Tom Tesch of Paullina, Iowa; Terry and his wife, Debbie Kruse of Sutherland, Iowa; Sherry and her husband, Dudley Durst of Primghar, Iowa; five grandchildren, Tiffany and her husband, Tracy Bahrenfuss; Anthony Durst; Jillian, Cassandra, and Noelle Kruse; one great-grandson, Traven Bahrenfuss; three brothers and their spouses, Ellsworth and Louise Uden of Lucerne Valley, California; Melvin and Jenola Uden of Ocheyedan, Iowa; Jim and Esther Uden of Des Moines, Iowa; a sister and her husband, JoAnn and Howard Radunz of Ocheyedan, Iowa; also nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, two brothers, and a niece.
Mary was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother
and Great-grandmother.
