MARY E. WISSINK
Mary E. Wissink, the daughter of Erle and Mabel (Isaacson) Evans was born on July 23, 1918 in Guernsey, Iowa. She received her education in Orange City, Iowa and graduated from the Orange City High School in 1936. She then attended Northwestern Junior College for a year. On June 18, 1941, she was united in marriage to Harold A. Wissink in Sheldon, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in West Bend, Iowa. They moved to Chicago, Illinois while Harold earned his Master’s Degree. They then lived in several Iowa communities before moving to Sheldon. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and a homemaker. Harold preceded her in death on September 11, 1970 in Sheldon, Iowa. Mary was a lively and independent person and remained in her home until March of 2009, when she became a resident of the Bee Hive Homes in Sheldon. Mary passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Bee Hive Homes, reaching the age of 92 years, 1 month and 17 days.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon and was thought of as a great prayer warrior for her many friends and relatives. She also enjoyed reading, walking and letter writing.
Mary is survived by her two children and their spouses, Mary Jo and Harmon Biehl of Winter Garden, Florida and John and Nancy Wissink of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren, Anne and her husband, Allen Kidd, Sarah and her husband, Corey Mock, Matthew and Jacob Wissink, Dawn and her husband, Ed Frederiksen, Catherine (Cammie) Fitch; three great-grandchildren, Megan Kidd, Reid Frederiksen and Eliza Fitch; a brother, John and his wife, Florence Evans of Milwaukie, Oregon; a sister, Ann Covey of Lovington, New Mexico; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister, Dorothy Krejci and a brother, Russell Evans.

for their kindness and concern for our mother.
