MARJORIE M. STEUCK
Marjorie Mae Steuck, the daughter of John and Emma (Erickson) Niemier, was born on April 7, 1924 in Kossuth County near LuVerne, Iowa. She attended elementary schools in LuVerne, Livermore and Bradgate, Iowa. She graduated from Bradgate High School in 1941 and obtained an elementary teaching degree from Morningside College in Sioux City in 1943. She taught 4th grade for two years in Sanborn, Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Arnold W. Steuck of Primghar at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sanborn on June 24, 1945. They raised their four children on the family farm near Primghar until moving to Primghar in 1993. Her husband preceded her in death on May 15, 2003 in Primghar.
Marge was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church as an organist, Sunday school teacher, choir member and in the Women’s Society. She was a member of the Center Township Neighborhood group for many years. In her community of Primghar she was a member of the Federated Women’s Club as well as the Peace Link organization.
She passed away on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, reaching the age of 84 years, 4 months and 8 days.
Survivors include a son, Greg and his wife, Faye Steuck of Golden, CO; a son, Gordon and his wife, Jennifer Steuck of Denver, CO; a daughter, Donna and her husband, Bryce Gadbury of Algona, IA and a son, David Steuck and his special friend, Deb Koedam of Ankeny, IA; a grandson, Shane Gadbury of Bettendorf, IA; a granddaughter, Anika Gadbury of Minneapolis, MN; step-grandchildren, Melissa and Diana Martin and Jacob and Roxanne Bauer all in Colorado; Deb Koedam Family, Anne and Michael Wright and children, Cody, Cole and Craig; Carl Koedam, Jay Koedam and Terese Koedam; a brother, Robert Niemier and his friend, June Rocchietti of Bellevue, NE; also many nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a sister-in-law, Marguerite Niemier.
