            Services for Marilyn F. Oldenkamp, age 70, of Sheldon who passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care.  Her celebration of life service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon with Pastor Jesse Walhof, officiating.

   Marilyn F. Oldenkamp, the daughter of Henry and Jennie (Van Meeteren) Oldenkamp was born on August 13, 1953, in Sheldon, Iowa.  She attended and graduated from Boyden-Hull High School.  Marilyn worked for Boyden School District as a cook for over twenty-five years.  After she retired, she moved to Sheldon and did various cleaning jobs around the area.  Marilyn passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care at the age of 70 years, 7 months, and 23 days.

            Marilyn was a member of the First Reformed Church in Boyden and was attending Living Water Community Church in Sheldon.  She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and spending time with friends and family.  She also enjoyed reading and word searches.  Most of all she loved raising and being with her son Ryan.

            Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ryan; brother, Doug Oldenkamp, of Spencer, brother-in-law, Mike Olesen of Omaha, Nebraska; also, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

            Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Glenda Olesen.
