Services for Marie Kamstra, age 103, of Sheldon who passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Vista Prairie at Fieldcrest in Sheldon. Her funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon with Rev. Kevin Muyskens ~ officiating.
The service will be livestreamed on Immanuel Christian Reformed Youtube With searching Immanuel church of Sheldon.
Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visitation with family present will be from 5 – 7 P.M. on Monday, January 30, 202023,23 at Andringa Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Marie Kamstra was born on June 5, 1919, in rural Sheldon, Iowa. She was the daughter of Jake and Kate (Wilkens) Den Beste. She grew up in the Sheldon area where she attended country school.
She was united in marriage to William Kamstra, on June 6, 1941, in Archer. They lived and farmed northwest of Sheldon before moving to Archer, Iowa, where they farmed for 15 years and the moved 7 miles northeast of Sheldon, where they lived and farmed for 15 years. In 1976, they moved to Sheldon and in 2002, they moved to the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon.
Marie was a charter member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon; her faith was always very important to her.
Bill and Marie enjoyed traveling. They wintered in Alamo, Texas, for 20 years, and enjoyed visiting relatives in California. They also visited Mexico and Canada and have been in every state west of the Mississippi River as well as Florida and Georgia.
Marie enjoyed gardening and she was also a helping hand on the farm, even owning her own tractor to help with field work. She raised three children on the farm. In later years she enjoyed spending time with family and her many grandchildren.
Marie passed away at Vista Prairie at Fieldcrest in Sheldon reaching the age of 103 years, 7 months, and 21 days.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Tim and Barb Kamstra of Sheldon, Nancy, and Robert Lawler of Sheldon; daughter-in-law, Janice Kamstra of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; a sister, Esther Vanden Hull of Sheldon; sister-in-law, Eleanor Kamstra of Lantana, Florida; brother-in-law, Harold Stevens of Irvine, California; also, other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ted Kamstra, grandson, Theodore Robert Kamstra Jr., her parents, husband, Bill, brother, Bernard Den Beste, brothers-in-law, John Vanden Hull and Peter Kamstra and sister-in-law, Thelma Stevens.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fieldcrest and Sanford Home Health and Hospice for the exceptional care they gave to Marie.
