Margie Jacobs, age 83, of Sutherland, Iowa who passed away on Saturday, October 16 2021, at the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn, Iowa. Her memorial service will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the United Methodist Church in Sutherland, Iowa with Dave Orthmann~ officiating.
Visitation with family present will follow the memorial service in the basement of the church.

Margie Lanell Jacobs, the daughter of Edwin and Nellie Orthmann was born March 8, 1938 in Sutherland, Iowa. She attended country school and later graduated from Sutherland High School in 1956. On January 26, 1958, she was united in marriage to Russell Steinbeck. To this union three children were born. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Royal and Everly areas. Margie spent time in Florida from 1988 to 2019, when she moved back to Sutherland, living at her old schoolhouse (also known as Willoway). Margie passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Prairie View Campus in Sanborn, Iowa, reaching the age of 83 years.
Margie loved spending time with her family and friends! She also really enjoyed music. For many years she played piano and organ for church along with singing in the choirs, played for many weddings and the Everly Kitchen Band. Her gift of music was shared with many and continues to be a passion of her future generations. Margie is lovingly known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Gramcracker” and “Margies”.
Margie is survived by her three children; Steve Steinbeck of Casselberry, Florida; Lanell Avery of Vail, Colorado; Lonna and her husband, Terry Boltjes of Sutherland, Iowa. Grandchildren; Maxwell Avery and his wife, Nicole of Austin, Texas; Alisa Strohbehn and her husband, Austin of Urbandale, Iowa; Zach Boltjes of Sioux City, Iowa; Lauren Mirani-Steinbeck of Huntington Beach, California. Great grandchildren; Channing Avery and Taylor Avery; Adaline Strohbehn and Ansel Strohbehn; Lilah Mirani-Steinbeck. Siblings; Ken Orthmann, Barb Thiessen, Patricia Engel, Gary Orthmann and wife, Mary; Bradley Orthmann and wife, Mary, and many other relatives and friends.
