MARGARET L. VER MEER
Margaret Leona Ver Meer, the daughter of Hubert and Lena (Verrips) Kleyne was born November 26, 1918 near Boyden, Iowa. She attended country school and later graduated from Boyden High School. She was united in marriage to Everett Ver Meer in the First Reformed churches parsonage in Boyden, Iowa. After their marriage Margaret lived in Boyden while Everett was in the Army during W.W. II. After his return the couple farmed near Granville, Iowa for several years. In 1952, the couple began farming northeast of Boyden, where they have lived and farmed until their retirement. The couple has spent their retirement years on the family farm. Margaret passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, reaching the age of 91 years, 1 month and 6 days.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Boyden and had taught Sunday school and was an R.C.Y.F. sponsor. Margaret loved the family farm and being involved with the operation of the farm. She enjoyed gardening and was a very good seamstress.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Everett of Boyden; four children, Everly and her husband, Harold Post of Holstein, Iowa; Lyle and his wife, Lori Ver Meer of Westminster, Colorado; Diana and her husband, Brad Verburg of Sheldon and Duane and his wife, Lisa Ver Meer of Sheldon; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Leona Ver Meer and Esther Ver Meer both of Boyden; a sister-in-law, Wilmina Swets of Bellflower, California; also nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Ver Meer; her parents, a sister, Wilma Brink; four brothers-in-law, Walter Swets, Abe Brink, John R. Ver Meer and Frank Ver Meer.
