Magdelene Mulder, the daughter of John and Dena (Kastein) Vos, was born February 26, 1914 in Rural Hospers, Iowa. On November 10, 1933 she was united in marriage to Alden “Ole” Mulder in Luverne, Minnesota. After their marriage the couple lived in Sheldon where she operated the Snack Shop, Ole’s Billiards and later the Top Hat with her husband Ole. In August of 1993 the couple moved to Charles City, Iowa. She passed away on Friday, January 14, 2010 at the Floyd County Hospital in Charles City reaching the age of 96 years, 10 months and 14 days.
Magdelene enjoyed to fish, crochet, bake, camp, and play cards. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois (Wayne) Oordt of Charles City, Iowa and Joyce Bremer of Katy, Texas; five grandchildren, Lorraine (Doug) Hoeft, Renae (Bob) Virgl, Tahlene (Randy) Davis, Audie (Stephanie) Bremer, Jeanne (Roger) Helderle; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Paul Bremer, a great-granddaughter, Darcee Hoeft, parents, three brothers, Pete, John, and Gerald, and two sisters, Eva Kroese, and Gertrude Johnson.
