M. LOIS HANNO
Margaret Lois Hanno, the daughter of Hugh and Bridget (Cahill) Maguire was born July 23, 1931 in Ayrshire, Iowa. She received her education in Ayrshire graduating from Ayrshire High School. She went on to further her education at Mercy Nursing training in Fort Dodge and received her R.N. On August 21, 1954, she was united in marriage to James Hanno in Ayrshire. After their marriage the couple lived in Iowa City, where she was an R.N. at the Veterans Hospital. The couple moved to Sheldon in 1957. While in Sheldon she raised her family and was the St. Patrick’s School Nurse for 25 years. She had been a resident of the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn the last few years. She passed away at Prairie View on Saturday, January 2, 2010, reaching the age of 78 years, 5 months and 9 days.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheldon, the Ladies Guild of the church and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of the first board of the Village Northwest in Sheldon and was active in the Sheldon Community with volunteering and the Red Cross Blood Drive.
Lois is survived by her husband, James of Sheldon; 5 children and their spouses, Trese and Daniel Castle of Greene, Iowa; James and Emily Hanno of Sheldon; Margaret and Kraig Vos of Okoboji, Iowa; John and Mary Hanno of Sioux City and Patricia and Joel Limoges of Lakeville, Minnesota; also 13 grandchildren, Michael & (Jennifer); Elizabeth & (Justin); Brian & (Alyssa); Meredith & (Adam); Meredith & (Justin), Andrew and Eric; Hillary, Madeline and Grace; Andrea, Matthew and Benjamin; 7 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brock, Lillian, Timothy, Addilyn, Dylan and Addisyn; 3 brothers and their spouses, John and Colleen Maguire of Iowa Falls; Richard and Dee Maguire of Bradenton, Florida and Leo and Jan Maguire of Sydney, Australia; a sister, Trese Thompson of Vancouver, Washington; also nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 8 brothers and sisters.
