Services for Luella “Lou” Behrens, age 87, of Primghar who passed away on May 28, 2022, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar with Pastor John Adams ~ officiating.
Private family burial will be held at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.
Visitation with family present will be from 10 A.M. until service time on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar.
Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Primghar.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Primghar Golf and Country Club for the Junior Golf Program.

Luella “Lou” Mae Behrens, the daughter of Hans and Amanda (Plath) Behrens was born on September 13, 1934, in Paullina, Iowa. She received her education in Calumet and graduated from Primghar High School in 1952. For one year, Lou attended Mankato Business School. Her career began at Human Services in O’Brien County where she worked for 45 years, retiring in June of 1998.
Lou passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls, South Dakota reaching the age of 87 years, 8 months, and 15 days.
Lou found enjoyment being around family and close friends. An avid golfer, playing in many tournaments, a charter member of Primghar Golf and Country Club and played league also in Paullina and Hartley. To her credit, two holes in ones in 2008 and 2013! She loved playing all kinds of card games, casino bus trips, Iowa Hawkeyes, bowled and played softball on town teams. She was voted Queen for the 2013 Quasqui Centennial by the community.
Lou was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar always there with a helping hand. She planted many seeds of kindness to family an abundance of friends.
Lou leaves to cherish her memory, sister, Helen Benson of Marshall, Minnesota; 11 nieces and nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
Lou was preceded in death by her parents, infant brothers, Leonard, Gary and Richard Behrens; sister, Kathryn, two brothers-in-law, two nephews and a niece.
