LOVELLA L. RADER

Lovella Lillian Rader was born December 30, 1924 on a farm west of Paullina, IA O’Brien County, IA, the daughter of Albert and Lucille (Straub) Ebel. She received her education at Zion Lutheran school in Paullina. She was united in marriage to Marcellus (Mose) Rader on May 16, 1943 in Paullina. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1988 in Sioux City, IA. The couple lived near Paullina all of their lives where they farmed near Archer, Primghar, Calumet and Paullina. The couple moved into Paullina in 1966. During her married years she was a housewife and mother as well as working outside the home at the Martin House Drive Inn and later at the Paullina Bakery for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards and gardening. Lovella entered Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn, IA in November of 2017 and passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 reaching the age of 93 years, 2 months and 21 days.
She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, where she was baptized, confirmed, married and attended regularly all 93 years of her life.
Lovella leaves to cherish precious memories; two sons, Robert and Bonita Rader of Florence, OR and Larry and Ann Rader of Paullina, IA; one daughter, Betty and her husband, Bertus DeRidder Jr. of Primghar, IA; grandchildren, Michael Rader and his wife, Becky of Moville, IA and their children, Ethan and Jacob; Todd DeRidder and his partner, Brooke and their children, Elijah, Abel and Elora of Waterloo, IA; and Abby Wallin and husband, Travis of Paullina, IA; also a brother, Marlo Ebel and his wife, Barb of Paullina, IA; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marcellus (Mose), infant son Bradley, parents Albert and Lucille and a sister Verlie and her husband Howard Kluender.
