Services for Lorriane “Lori” Muilenburg, age 85, of Sheldon who passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon with Pastor Paul Rowenhorst, officiating.

Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Sheldon.

Lorraine “Lori” Bosma Muilenburg was born October 28, 1939, to Ike and Elizabeth (Vander Veen) Bosma in Hospers, Iowa. Lori attended Hospers Christian School from K-8 and graduated from Hospers High School, Hospers, Iowa. She entered into eternal rest on Monday February 3, 2025, at Sanford Hospital in Sheldon, Iowa
On December 21, 1960, Lori was united in marriage to Harold Muilenburg, at the Christian Reformed Church in Hospers, Iowa. And to this union they had 3 children, Lesa Kay, Douglas Jay and Julie Lynn. Harold passed away in 2004. After Harry’s passing Lori spent a winter in Texas and ran across an old friend, Donald Dykstra. They spent several years enjoying retirement together until Don passed away in 2014. For the last several years, she’s enjoyed having Monday afternoon coffee with her nieces and fun adventures with her good friend Connie.
She is survived by her children Lesa (Dennis) Kruger, Doug (Deb) Muilenburg, and Julie Carlson, grandchildren Jason Kruger, Jill (Caleb) Haverdink, Jodi (Tom) Bastron, Jenna (Justin) Zandstra, Eric (Katie) Muilenburg, Andrew (Jamie Carpenter) Muilenburg, Jordan Muilenburg, Craig (Kina) Chentfant, Danny Carlson and Thomas Carlson and 19 great-grandchildren, a brother, Joe (Mary) Bosma and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her son-in-law Paul Carlson, her parents,9 sisters and 3 brothers.
