LORETTA ANN NEGUS
Loretta Ann Negus, the daughter of Delbert and Edna (Heinl) Negus was born March 27, 1946 in Sutherland, Iowa. She attended Sutherland schools and graduated from Sutherland High School. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Gaskill and to this union two children were born, Dale and Sheila. Loretta’s employments were at Millie’s Rest Home in Sutherland; Red’s Café; Charlie’s Steak House; Sutherland Community Schools and for many years she sold Avon in the Sutherland area. Because of her failing health she became a resident of the Sutherland Care Center. She passed away at the care center on Sunday, May 17, 2009 reaching the age of 63 years, 1 month and 21 days.
She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and was a lifelong member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Mother’s Club, KYN Club, Birthday Club and the Sutherland American Legion Auxiliary.
Loretta Ann is survived by her daughter and husband, Sheila and James Klingborg of Cherokee; four grandchildren, Amber Lee Schmidt and her special friend, Dan Lenninger Sr. of Cherokee; Trinity Joseph Klingborg of Cherokee and special friend, Beth Hanner of Quimby, Iowa; Kyle Erb of Spirit Lake, Iowa and Robert Klingborg of Cherokee; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Noel Harper of Manchester, Iowa; Heaven Leigh Harper and Carly Ann Harper of Cherokee; her mother, Edna Negus of Sutherland; also other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dale Eugene Gaskill on June 1, 1995 and her father, Delbert Negus on June 1, 1977.
