KEITH A. DYKSTRA
Keith Alan Dykstra, the son of Maynard and Edna (Den Hartog) Dykstra was born December 8, 1959 in Sheldon, Iowa. He was raised on a farm south of Sheldon and received his education in Sheldon schools graduating from Sheldon High School. He went on to attend Northwestern College in Orange City and also NCC in Sheldon, where he graduated as a computer programmer. On September 5, 1980, he was united in marriage to Donna De Hoogh in Sheldon, Iowa. After their marriage Keith was employed at the Ritter Elevator in Ritter, Iowa, Plainview Hog in Sioux City, Iowa and later lived in Chicago, Illinois, where he was employed at the Continental Grain Company. The couple returned to Sheldon in 1989, where he has operated his own hog operation. He passed away on Friday, March 31, 2006 in Cooke City, Montana, reaching the age of 46 years, 3 months and 24 days.
He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon. He taught Sunday school, Catechism and was a Deacon. He served on the board of Farmers Mutual Insurance and various other boards. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and was known as a handyman. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Keith leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Donna of 25 years; four children, Blake, Jordan, Bryant and Kayla all of Sheldon; his mother, Edna Dykstra of Sheldon, Iowa; a sister, Mavis and her husband, Jim Aberson of Orange City, Iowa; a brother, Mark Dykstra and his wife, Chris of Hospers, Iowa; his mother-in-law, Minnie De Hoogh of Sheldon, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Alvera and her husband, David Kidder of Grand Rapids, Michigan; a brother-in-law, Gary De Hoogh and his wife, Nadine of Sheldon, Iowa; also nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard Dykstra.
But they that wait upon the Lord,
