On March 6, 1940, he was united in marriage to Hermina Oldenkamp on her parent’s farm place near Boyden, Iowa. The couple made their home on a farm north of Sanborn, Iowa for 14 years, later moving to a farm north of Sheldon on Country Club Road, where they farmed until their retirement in 1977.
