JOAN M. MILLER
Joan Margaret Miller, the daughter of Will K. and Edna (Schuster) Menke, was born April 14, 1931 in Highland Township of O’Brien County, Iowa. She received her education in a country school at Highland Township #1. She later attended Primghar High School graduating in 1949. On November 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to Leslie Miller at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After their marriage the couple farmed south of Paullina for many years. The couple moved into Paullina in 1986 and they retired from farming in 1991. She passed away at the Baum-Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar on Saturday, July 23, 2005, reaching the age of 74 years, 3 months and 9 days.
She was baptized on May 13, 1931 and later confirmed on February 17, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina where she was currently a member. She was a member of the Ladies Aid of the church.
Joan leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Leslie of Paullina, one daughter and her husband, Roxane and Douglas Becker of Little Rock, Arkansas; a son-in-law and his wife Garry and Kathy Harrison of Lincoln Nebraska; five grandsons, Bill, Tom, and John and his wife, Kayla Harrison; Adam and Alex Becker; a sister and her husband, Jodene and Stanley Jongma of Moneta; also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, LaDonna; her parents and a niece, Monica Jongma.
