She went on to further her education at Sioux City Academy Beauty College. On January 30, 1944, she was united in marriage to Johnnie Peters in Worthington, Minnesota. After their marriage the couple lived in rural Cleghorn and Paullina, before moving into Paullina in 1952. For over 50 years, she operated Jeanette’s Beauty Shoppe in Paullina until her retirement. Her husband preceded her in death on July 22, 1999 in Sheldon. She continued to make her home in Paullina until July of 2006, when she moved to the Paullina Care Center. She passed away on Friday, May 4, 2007 at the Orange City Area Health System, reaching the age of 86 years, 7 months and 12 days.
