JEAN A. EDWARDS

Jean Ann Edwards was born on March 13, 1934, in Calumet, Iowa, the daughter of Ira and Alma (Hurtig) Tesch. She attended country school and was baptized and confirmed in the Zion United Church of Christ in Calumet, Iowa. Jean was united in marriage to Dick Edwards at the Silver Bell Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas on July 6, 1960. In her younger years she worked at Lange’s Café and also stayed with families helping them take care of their families. She was a homemaker while Rick and Barb were growing up and worked alongside Dick at the Ready Mix until she retired in 1998. Jean passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019, at the Orange City Hospital reaching the age of 85 years, 7 months, and 15 days.
Jean cherished spending time with her family. At holiday and birthday celebrations, everyone looked forward to her chocolate marshmallow brownies, caramel Rice Krispie marshmallows, banana pudding dessert, and her green bean casserole was hands down the best. Along with baking, she also enjoyed polka dancing, gardening, and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was active with Women’s Fellowship at her church. Jean was loved by many—she had a strong faith that she showed everyday through her genuine kindness for others.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dick Edwards of Paullina; her daughter, Barb (Steve) Klein of Iowa Falls; grandchildren, Taylor (Robbi) Edwards, Brittany Edwards, Amanda (Brian) Junck, Matt Brady, and Josh Brady; great grandchildren, Rorri, Taelee, and Crue Edwards, Aubrey, Berkleigh, and Lettie McGuire, and Brandon, Makenna, Gracelyn, and Adalynn Junck; brother-in-law, Bill Click of Paullina; sisters-in-law, Betty Edwards of Springfield, Oregon, and Dar Tesch of Paullina.
Jean was preceded in death by her son, Richard in June of 2018 and his wife, Georgia in April of 2004, a great-grandson, Bentlee Edwards, her parents, sisters, Iris (Jack) Hunnel, Marny Click, Gerda (Merle) Kuehl, and Karen (Jack) Cooper; brother, Pete Tesch; brothers-in-law, Jim Koch and Chuck Edwards.

me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou anointest my head with oil,
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the
Lord forever.
