            Services for Henrietta F. Bonestroo, age 93, of Sheldon who passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon.  Her funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. on Monday, October 23, 2023, at First Reformed Church in Sheldon with Pastor Dave Van Kley ~ officiating.

            Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.

            Visitation with family present will be from 4 to 6 P.M. on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Andringa Funeral Home – Sheldon.

After today’s graveside service, relatives and friends are invited to join the family in the fellowship hall of the church.

Andringa Funeral Home; Sheldon, Iowa.

 

Henrietta Faye Bonestroo, the daughter of Arie and Jennie (Vander Pol) De Bondt, was born on December 30, 1929, in Rock Valley, Iowa.  She attended country school through the eighth grade.  On June 15, 1951, Henrietta was united in marriage to Leonard Bonestroo in Hull, Iowa.  After their marriage the couple moved to rural Sheldon and to rural Matlock in 1956 and in 1958, they moved to Sheldon.  She was a cook for the Sheldon Schools, and she also worked at D & J Produce in Boyden and Village Northwest in Sheldon.  In 2019, Henrietta moved to Sheldon Senior Care and passed away there on Monday, October 16, 2023, reaching the age of 93 years, 9 months, and 16 days.

Henrietta was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon.  Her favorite thing was spending time with family.  She also enjoyed gardening and taking care of plants, camping, and fishing.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert and Donna Bonestroo of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Wilmina and John DeVries of Hawarden, Iowa, Barbara Bonestroo of Boyden, Iowa, Brenda and Kevyn McInnis of Worthington, Minnesota and Lila Wilson of Boyden, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; also, other relatives and friends.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard, son-in-law, Darrell Wilson; granddaughter, April Lynn DeVries; siblings, Bernard De Bondt, John De Bondt, Jen Engelhoven, and Marie De Bondt.
