Geraldine Matilda Klein was born on February 26, 1943 to John and Bernadette (Holles) Klein. She grew up in Hospers, Iowa and attended catholic schools. On October 29, 1966 she was united in marriage to Wayne Hardin at the Church of Christ in Primghar, Iowa.
She was employed at Primghar Community Schools for 21 years as custodial and kitchen staff. Over the years she also babysat for many Primghar families. Geri was an active member of the Church of Christ. She participated regularly in Ladies Aide, Faith Walkers and numerous other church activities. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and was a sports enthusiast. Geri was proud of her plants, especially her Christmas cactus.
Geri lived out her last years at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion, South Dakota where she enjoyed playing bingo, attending activities, making crafts, and calling to talk to her grandchildren who she adored. While there she formed special relationships with many of the nurses and staff where she is lovingly referred to as “Ger-Bear”.
