GENEVA E. SCHWEBACH

Geneva Elizabeth Schwebach, the daughter of Gerrit and Rena (Carson) Van Surksum was born August 16, 1932 in Doon, Iowa. She received her education in schools in Rock Valley, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Arthur De Raad to this union six children were born. She later was united in marriage to Ambrose Schwebach. Geneva was employed at Ben Franklin in Sheldon where she lived for several years. She moved to the Senior Wellness Center in Hartley where she made her home for 15 years. For the last year she has resided at the Sanford Sheldon Senior Care. She passed away at Senior Care on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 reaching the age of 76 years, 8 months and 19 days.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheldon. She enjoyed her family and crocheting.
Geneva is survived by her five children, Arie De Raad of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; LaRena and her husband, Brian Buchholz of Ghent, Minnesota; Phillip De Raad of Andover, Minnesota; Gary De Raad of Boyden and Arthur De Raad Jr. of Yankton, South Dakota; also 13 grandchildren, Josh Gray; Terry Waltz; Jessica Fogelson; Eric Buchholz; Justin De Raad; Chris De Raad; Dustin Lokhorst; Taryn Lokhorst; Nick Lokhorst; Levi Lokhorst; Anita Holnes; Andy De Raad and Dakota De Raad; 12 great-grandchildren, one sister, Esther Van Beek of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Wanda Jean De Raad for her years of special care giving; also a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, one son, Terry Keith De Raad; her parents and one sister, Violet May Van Surksum.
