FRED W. MASSMANN
Frederick Walter Massmann, the son of Walter and Della (Buesen) Massmann was born June 1, 1941 near Paullina, Iowa. He received his education in Paullina graduating from Paullina High School in 1959. After his graduation he began farming. On April 22, 1961, he was united in marriage to Judy Moos at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. The couple farmed together for 49 years southeast of Paullina. He was involved in raising crops as well as milking his dairy herd, raising hogs and cattle. He passed away suddenly at his farm home in rural Paullina, on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 reaching the age of 69 years, 1 month and 12 days.
He was baptized on August 10, 1941 and later confirmed on May 29, 1955, was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. He was a long time trustee for Union Township. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going to the sale barn, hunting and playing cards.
Fred leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Judy of Paullina; three sons and their wives, Brian and Beth Massmann of Paullina; Kevin and Bobbi Massmann of Paullina and Lance and Dawn Massmann of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; eight grandchildren, Brooke and her husband, Brad Wittrock; Heather, Paige, Megan, Nicholas, Anthony, Brittany and Kelsie; also other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dolores Goosen.
