F. IRENE LOUSCHER
Francis Irene Louscher was born to Daniel LoRanz and Mary Martha Bryant Brumley on January 14, 1913 in Garden City, Missouri. At a young age the family moved to Bussey, Iowa and two years later to Harris, Iowa. She attended country school and graduated from Harris High School. On December 27, 1929, Irene married Harold Lee Louscher. To this union four children were born; Robert, twins, Yvonne and Bonnie and Paul Kent. In 1976, an adopted daughter, Doan, joined the family.
They made their home in Harris, moving to Lake Park, Iowa in 1937, where they lived until moving to Garden Grove, California in 1965. In 1966, she moved to Paullina, Iowa to be near her beloved sister, Gladys and brother-in-law, Bert Louscher.
Irene’s life centered around her family and many nieces and nephews considered her their second mother. Her love of poetry shone thru in the many lessons she gave. She was a devoted, active member of her church.
Irene lived her last 3½ years at the Paullina Care Center. She passed away at the Orange City Hospital on Tuesday, January 2nd, reaching the age of 93.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie and her husband, Gene Vetter of Spencer; a son, Kent and his wife, Donna Louscher of Boston, MA; her adopted daughter, Doan and her husband, Tuan Loc of Parsippany, New Jersey; eighteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Georgia James of Garden Grove, CA; brother’s-in-law, Bert Louscher of Paullina, IA; John and his wife, Raeburn Louscher of Spirit Lake, IA; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her daughter, Yvonne Rupp and her husband Fred; a son, Robert and siblings, twins Clemmie Dillehey and Clifford; Victor; Rosetta Bergman; Jennie King; Clinton; Gladys Louscher and Daniel.
