FRANCES J. STANGE
Frances Janette Stange, the daughter of George and Dena (Behrends) Becker, was born November 8, 1916 near George, Iowa. She attended Public School District #2 of Dale Township in Lyon County, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Edward Stange on September 26, 1941 in Ashton, Iowa. The young couple made their home on a farm near Hull. They farmed most of their married life in the Hull and Doon area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed ward on May 1, 1971. After his death, she moved into Sheldon, where she worked in a restaurant, a greenhouse and at the Sheldon Hospital in the kitchen before retiring in the mid 1980’s. Frances passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2007, at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon, Iowa, reaching the age of 90 years, 4 months and 10 days.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon and of the ladies aid. She enjoyed working, taking care of her yard and flowers.
Frances leaves to cherish her memory, her two children, Carol and her husband, Eugene Dierksen of Dundas, Minnesota and William “Bill” Stange of Altus, Oklahoma; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Marvin and Fred Becker.
