ESTHER M. HARBST
Esther Minnie Harbst, the daughter of Henry Carl and Tossie Hazel (Heiliger) Harbst, was born October 31, 1913, in Sheldon, Iowa. She received her education in Sheldon. She was a waitress in the Candy Kitchen and worked as a clerk at M&M Food Store for over 30 years; she also worked as a dispatcher for the Police department in Sheldon. Esther passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the Northwest Iowa Health Center – Senior Care in Sheldon, reaching the age of 91 years, 8 months and 22 days.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sheldon, and worked on different groups at the church. She was a past member of the BPW.
Esther leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Betty and her husband, Lee Hulst of Weaverville, North Carolina; a brother, Heine Harbst of Spirit Lake, Iowa; also nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Hazel Hovall and three brothers, Carl, Don and Dale Harbst.
