ELSIE M. MEYER
Elsie Marie Meyer, the daughter of Henry and Augusta (Wagner) Johnson, was born March 24, 1911 in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She received her education in Lyon County country school. Elsie was united in marriage to Herman H. Loges on January 2, 1930 in Rock Rapids, the couple made their home near Doon, Iowa. Elsie was a mother and a homemaker. Herman preceded her in death in 1960. On March 20, 1962, she then married John E. Meyer in Sheldon and they lived near Boyden, Iowa. John preceded her in death in 1985. Elsie passed away at George Community Good Samaritan Center in George, Iowa on Sunday, February 13, 2011, reaching the age of 99 years, 10 months and 20 days.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Boyden. She enjoyed gardening, dancing (polkas and waltzes particularly), baking, crocheting, tatting and playing the harmonica and keyboard.
Elsie is survived by her 2 daughters, Ileen H. Meyer of Boyden, Iowa and Leona M. Marco and her husband, Paul Marco of Bigelow, Minnesota; a daughter-in-law, Luella Loges of Boyden, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son, Elmer H. Loges; a son-in-law, Marvin H. Meyer; her parents, a brother, Louie Johnson; a sister, Luella Johnson and a sister in infancy.
