EDWARD W. BEERMANN

Edward William Beermann, the son of Eduard F. and Irene (Pauling) Beermann, was born September 21, 1918 in Iona, Minnesota. He attended school in Iona and later when his family moved to the Germantown area St. John Lutheran School in Germantown. On June 6, 1943, he was united in marriage to Ethel O. Schuknecht at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. The couple’s married life has been spent in the Germantown and Paullina, Iowa area. He was employed by J.C. Lange driving the grocery truck, farmed for many years in the area until the couple moved into Paullina in 1968. Before his retirement, he was the bus foreman for the Paullina School District for 15 years. His wife preceded him in death on July 16, 2005 in Paullina. He remained in the family home and moved into the Paullina Care Center in September of 2005. He passed away at the care center Friday, March 3, 2006, reaching the age of 87 years, 5 months and 12 days.
He was baptized on November 24, 1918 and later confirmed on March 20, 1932 at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. He was currently a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where he had held various offices in the church, school and was the cemetery custodian. He was also a member of the Silver and Gold.
Edward leaves to cherish his memory his children, James Beermann of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Joyce Burns of Paullina, Iowa; David and his wife, Sandy Beermann of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Carrie Burns; Cory Beermann; Rob Burns; Rindee Beermann; Bryce and his wife, Krista Beermann; Rachelle Beermann; a sister, Elnora Axdahl of Stillwater, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Beermann of Paullina, Iowa; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eugene and Betty Schuknecht of Paullina, Iowa; also nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a brother, Alvin Beermann; and two brothers-in-law, Sigwald Axdahl and Eldred Schuknecht.
