EDWARD FERGUSON

Edward Ferguson, the son of Walter and Nellie (Reed) Ferguson, was born on March 2, 1924 at Lake Park, Iowa. He received his education in the Lake Park area. On May 10, 1952, he was united in marriage to Ardyce Lorch at the Methodist Church in Lake Park. After their marriage the couple lived in Lake Park, Everly and the Hartley areas. Ed was engaged in farming, worked as a mechanic, school bus driver and as a carpenter. His wife preceded him in death on January 23, 1988 in Everly. On September 24, 1988, he was united in marriage to Norma Rohde in Everly, Iowa. The couple made their home in Hartley. For the past several years, Ed has worked at Snider’s Auto Repair going for auto parts. Norma passed away on August 3, 2005 in Primghar. Ed remained in the family home and moved to the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley in March of 2006. He passed away at the health center on Saturday, August 26, 2006, reaching the age of 82 years, 5 months and 24 days.
He is survived by two sons and their wives, Douglas and Wendy Ferguson of Anchorage, Alaska and Donn and Kathy Ferguson of Wasilla, Alaska; two grandsons, Jeremiah Ferguson and Jeffrey Ferguson and his fiancé, Teresa Bonadurer all of Wasilla, Alaska; four step-sons and their wives, Clarence and Kris Rohde of Fremont, Nebraska; Donald and Jane Rohde of Cambridge, Iowa; Burdette and Joan Rohde of Paullina, Iowa; LeRoy and Ruth Rohde of DeWitt, Iowa; two step-daughters, Darlene Fink of Acampo, California and Joan and Gary Selk of Sacramento, California; 16 step-grandchildren, 15 step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Nile and his wife, Verna Ferguson of Worthington, Minnesota; Harold and Ronald Ferguson of Alexandria, Minnesota; two sisters and their husbands, Ione and J.D. Tigner of Seminole, Oklahoma and Ila and Jim Nelson of Hartley, Iowa; also other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wives, his parents and a brother, Joe.
